A little help here... please?

I need a haircut. I have relied on mollo to get the job done since just after we were married. Why do I need a haircut? Well, because it has been 8 weeks since my last one. Mollo will tell you that I don't need one, or that it is just getting long enough to start looking good.

While in the Army, I needed a chop every week to avoid getting in trouble. Problem is, four $5 haircuts in a month adds up to a very large percentage of your income when the Army pays so little. We were counting pennies in those days. A few here or there meant the difference between hot dogs for dinner or macaroni and cheese.

We bought a set of clippers for $17 (if I remember right) at the Ft. Hood PX. Then the experimentation began. Mollo had no formal training or beauty school in her background, so it took a few months for her technique to produce a haircut that the guys in my platoon wouldn't make fun of. She eventually got really good at it, but you wouldn't know it if you ask her. She does a good job with my hair and I can think it is great, but she almost always says it looks bad. As soon as I want another haircut, she tells me that it is just starting to look good again.

Well, haircuts aren't $5 around here, they're $10 or more. A home haircut is still a good way to save a few bucks. Trouble with a free haircut is the barber has to be in the mood to do the job.

"Trouble with a free haircut is the barber has to be in the mood to do the job." I understand that sentiment and hope youre patient with mollo. Maybe, since you're out of the Army for now, you can let her enjoy bigger breaks in between haircuts - without hassle. Meanwhile, she may feel more like helping you out if she feels like she has a vested interest. ~ JHP

I have no vested interest in his haircuts. I was disappointed in college when he tried to grow his hair long but cut it off after a mere 3 inches. *sigh* There's no spirit in him.

When I don't cut his hair for a while, he starts threatening to shave himself bald. Sometimes, he even resorts to locking himself in the bathroom and turning the clippers on just to scare me.

Hey! Don't think he's joking! Dave shaved his head clean then wanted me to touch it. That was the most gross feeling!!

That's the big problem: I know he's quite willing to carry out this threat! After being in the Army, he's not scared of his ugly bald head.

I'm so sorry that you too, have had to experience your husband's bald head. Husbands have no idea how badly this tramatizes their wives and other females.

I know Hubby claims that all my haircuts have been good for him but just a few hair cuts I bombed big time. The funny thing I don't even know HOW I did it, but it looked terrible. All the females in his Microbiology class said, "Ewww!" My good husband came to ask me about this strange female phenomenon. Unfortunately, I blurted out, "You look like a pervert!" Really, all he needed was a whole lotta zits to make the package complete.

He really didn't believe me. But the females stayed away from him all week until his hair started growing out. :0

That's funny. I had the same reaction toward Dave & his completely bald head. I told him that he's have to grow it out a bit before we could get some snogging going... I'm completely "sexually" repulsed by a bald head. ew...

I came home from work one day and was promptly told by my wife, "You're not the man I married! Get away from me!" The difference? I shaved my goatee that morning prior to work and she hadn't seen me without it yet. Now when she makes drastic changes to her hair without consulting me as is her privelege , I playfully tell her I am about to shave my beard.
